On average one person in Maine dies from suicide every 39 hours.
Suicide is never the answer. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem!
The JD Foundation (JDF) was founded by a mother who lost her son to suicide. JDF believes that depression and mental illness is treatable and no family should have to lose a loved one over lack of education.
The JD Foundation focuses on Education and Training, Raising Awareness, Grief Support, and Giving Appropriate Resources to those in Crisis and their family members.

Bowl Gowns of Bangor
Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 6:30 PM – 9 PM
The event you wait for all year!! We are back for the 7th Annual Bowl Gowns of BGR!! Please mark your calendar for the date. :)
Since we are welcoming the Roaring Twenties again this year, we encourage everyone to dress up in FLAPPER APPAREL OF THE 1920s!!!! Or the traditional formal wear bowl gowns is fine too!!! Don your pearls and bowler hats! Let’s party!
We are raising donations for the JD Foundation. The JD Foundation is a local non-profit organization aimed at offering suicide prevention and education to the community and those directly effected by suicide. We are humbled as most of us have lost a loved one or dear friend far too early and seek to not lose a single person more. Please join us and donate graciously to this non-profit to make it our most successful fundraiser yet! Remember this fun evening has no cover charge so you can freely donate.
Food bar! (Is that a thing??)
