Welcome to the JD Foundation The JD Foundation is a non-profit organization (501(c)3) serving as an educational tool to the state of Maine to bring suicide prevention through awareness and education. We created this foundation in Memory of William Jody Day who passed away on November 18th, 2005 We believe that depression and mental illness are in fact illnesses that although complicated, are treatable. If they are not treated they can be fatal. We as communities must change our mind set and the old ways of thinking so we can work toward new goals to bring suicide rates down. Please know that we are never accountable for someone else's actions. We are here to learn the tools, seek appropriate help where needed, and to work toward suicide prevention. |
| Suicide is never the answer. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem! |
